Die Erlebnisrouten – Au(g)enweiden (3 km)
GPS-Track

Discover typical wetland features like pollard willows, reed beds, and ponds. This short walk circles the hollow marking part of the Rhine's former riverbed. Its large pond provides the ideal habitat for a wide variety of waterfowl. In the springtime, the reed beds are dotted with the bright yellow flowers of the rare marsh spurge. The caverns in the trunks of ancient pollard willows are inhabited by Little owls, an endangered species in Germany.
